Xiaomi confirms smartwatch to launch in Q2 2016

Xiaomi mobile may no longer be one of the top five smartphone makers in the world, according to the latest numbers from IDC, but that won't be changing the company's plans to expand its business. Xiaomi has confirmed that it has plans to release a smartwatch later this year. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of info beyond that.

Xiaomi Mi5 Gold Edition will be available on XiaomiDevice

Xiaomi has announced that the Gold Edition of the Xiaomi Mi5 will go on sale later this week - April 29 (10 AM), you can pre-order Gold Edition in Xiaomi Device Website.

Though pre-orders of the handset began over a month ago and the xiaomi device has been out in the wild for a while now, the gold variant has continued to elude. Apparently, though, the gold Mi 5 will finally be joining us as of this week, with April 29th slated as the official date.

Xiaomi Mi5 Pro 3D Glass Model Launched at Lower Price

Xiaomi launched the Mi5 Pro smartphone with 3D ceramic body back in February. Today, the company has released the White variant of the Xiaomi Mi5 Pro smartphone in China with 3D Glass body instead of the 3D ceramic body seen on the standard edition of the Mi 5 Pro. The White version of Mi 5 Pro also comes with a slight price cut and will be available at 2599 Yuan (approx $400 / Rs. 26,642) starting April 29th on Xiaomi's official website.

As aftermarket Android ROMs go, Xiaomi's MIUI is among the most popular. Touting a slick appearance and smooth functionality, it's a very appealing alternative to stock, to which 170+ million worldwide users can attest. With the Chinese firm set to launch the Xiaomi Max and Mi Band 2 at its special event in just over two weeks' time, it looks as though a new-and-improved MIUI 8 will also be on the agenda.

If size doesn't matter, why is the whole industry wondering how big the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max will be? Large screen lovers are said to be in for a treat, with a rumored display size of 6.4 inches, but Xiaomi is not giving us the exact details quite yet.

Ahead of the May 10 launch event, Xiaomi's Mi Max has been spotted in a GFXBench listing purportedly revealing the handset's details. According to the GFXBench listing, the Mi Max will feature a massive 6.4-inch full-HD display; run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow; powered by hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor; 2GB of RAM; 16GB of storage; 16-megapixel rear, and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Xiaomi Max will be released in June

We reported on a render of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max phablet, after revealing that the phone indeed exists a few days prior to that. XiaomiDevice today released a teaser image of the phone revealing just a small portion of it.

The point of the image is to show that the phone can fit comfortably into jeans pocket, but considering the rumors of a 6.4-inch display, we find that somewhat hard to believe.

Xiaomi Max adopts Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor

After the successful launch of its newest flagship -- Xiaomi Mi5, Xiaomi is believed to be preparing for the release of a phablet, referred to as the Xiaomi Max.

According to GizOK, news out of China has published what appear to be some early images of the Xiaomi Max. The industry follower said that while remaining unconfirmed, the said images seem to come straight from the China-based tech manufacturer's production line, and showcases the front panel of the rumored Max iteration. It is also revealed that the new Max seems to be a blown-up version of the Xiaomi Mi5 Pro, at least in the form factor and design.

Xiaomi Mi6 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 830

We've been hearing quite a bit about the Xiaomi Mi5 over the past couple of weeks, with the Xiaomi expected to outdo its predecessor once again. On the hardware side of things, Qualcomm's next Snapdragon, dubbed as the Snapdragon 830 for now is surfacing almost everyday in form or the other and today we have yet another detailed specification leak for you.

Structurally, the Snapdragon 823 is practically no different from its predecessor Snapdragon 820: 4 independent Krio core, Adreno 530 graphics, X12 LTE modem standard Cat.12 / 13 and is used in the production of 14-nm process technology. the processor is scheduled for the second half of 2016.

Xiaomi Max leaked images shows 6.4 inch smartphone

Xiaomi New Phablet Called as Xiaomi Max

Xiaomi has introduced two new devices quite recently, their new Xiaomi Mi5 flagship which was announced back in February, and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 which launched last month. Xiaomi has managed to sell around 70 million smartphones recently, and the company is looking to improve upon that this year. The Mi 5 will definitely help with that, this smartphone was expected to arrive last year, but that didn't happen, so it will definitely help Xiaomi's sales in 2016. It seems like the company is looking to release a huge phablet soon though, Xiaomi's largest-ever device.

Xiaomi may launch 6-inch dual rear-camera smartphone

Xiaomi mobile, the Chinese technology company that's often described as the 'Apple of China', may well be prepping the launch of at least two new large-screen smartphones, if posts on the country's leading microblogging site, Weibo, is anything to go by. Xiaomi Mi5 priced at Rs 24,999 is available for flash sale on today along with 20000mAh Xioami Mi Power Bank priced at Rs 1,699 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xioami Mi Power Bank made their debut on April 6 during the Xiaomi Mi Fan Festival. Xiaomi India sold over 100,000 units of its Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 smartphones and other accessories sold in a day during its first Xiaomi Mi Fan Festival.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 VS Meizu M3 Note

Both Xiaomi mobile and Meizu have announced their newest budge smartphones, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Meizu M3 Note. Both the smartphones come with full metallic chassis, impressive specs and features and affordable pricing. Design and Display
The Meizu M3 Note and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 both sport a similar form factor. The M3 Note measures 153.6 x 75.5 x 8.2 mm and weighs 163 grams whereas the Redmi Note 3 measures 150 x 76 x 8.7 mm and weighs 164 grams. Both the devices come with full metal unibody design and come in common colors like gray and gold. The M3 Note is also available in white whereas the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro can be availed in silver color.

Both the smartphones feature 5.5-inch full HD display. The display panel of Meizu M3 Note is protected by scratch resistant glass. Such a feature is unavailable on Redmi Note 3.

Chipset, Storage and RAM
The MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset that houses a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor powers the Meizu M3 Note. On the other side, the Redmi Note 3 is powered by Snapdragon 650 that features a 1.4 GHz hexa-core processor. The Redmi Note 3 also in another CPU edition that is powered by MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 SoC. The 16 GB and 32 GB models of both the smartphones feature 2 GB and 3 GB of RAM, respectively.

According to GizOK, the Helio P10 SoC scores around 51,000 points on AnTuTu whereas the Snapdragon 650 scores around 75000 on the same benchmarking app. Both the smartphones are dual-SIM devices that also supports a microSD card on their second SIM slots.

Camera and Other Features
Both the smartphones feature 5-megapixel selfie camera of f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera of Meizu M3 Note is of 13-megapixel that features a f/2.2 aperture lens. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 houses a f/2.0 aperture 16-megapixel rear camera. Both the rear shooters are equipped with features like dual LED flash, phase detection autofocus, and full HD video shooting, performance comparable Xiaomi Mi5 phone.

The Android Lollipop OS on both the smartphones are overlaid with respective skins like Meizu Flyme UI and Xiaomi MIUI 7.0. The M3 Note and Redmi Note 3 both feature a fingerprint scanner.

Battery and Price
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is packed with a massive battery of 4000 mAh capacity. The battery of the Redmi Note 3 supports fast charging. The Meizu M3 Note is equipped with a slightly larger battery of 4100 mAh capacity. The 2 GB RAM model of both the phones are priced at $125 and $154, respectively. The 3 GB RAM variants of M3 Note and Redmi Note 3 cost $155 and $185, respectively.
