I'm going to describe two methods by which you can enable google apps on your Xiaomi Mobile phone.
Method A: Installing Google Apps With Custom Recovery
1, Go to GAPPS web page and look the table to find out which package you need to download. You can check in your phone in settings - about phone - android version
2, Download package to sd card and reboot to recovery. You can select reboot to recovery in updater hit Menu button and select reboot to recovery mode
3, Flash the downloaded zip and reboot phone
Method B: Installing Google Apps With Google Installer
1, Go to Mi Market app and search for Google Installer
2, Download app and install it
3, Launch Google Installer and install google apps. The second and third are calendar and contact sync, so upon choosing either you get prompted to install required apps (framework, play store, account manager...)
4, Install all
5, When all are installed reboot the phone
TIP:
Sometimes after using google installer, play store app closes and can't be used; in that case, uninstalling it and installing again usually does the trick
Looks like Play Store isn't working after installing it with google installer. If this is your case, install the latest Play Store com.android.vending-4.8.20.apk and it should work.
Latest play store: vending-5.0.37.apk
com.android.vending-5.5.9-80350900-minAPI9.apk
com.android.vending-5.5.11-80351100-minAPI9.apk
Google apps for 4.1 based roms, Since Google Installer seems to be no longer available in App Store, here is the latest version before it was removed. It works in kit kat roms
googleinstaller.apk
