Xiaomi can take the fingerprint sensor off of Apple's footprint on the upcoming device Xiaomi Mi7 and replace it with face recognition. According to GizOK, Xiaomi plans to introduce a 3D face unlocking technology similar to Face ID on iPhone X.
This new news contradicts previous reports that Xiaomi will use an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The firm was expected to use the on-screen fingerprint sensor Synaptics recently described.
In addition, under-screen sensors were supported by the images of GizOK. In these depictions the device looked both forward and backward, the device had dual cameras, 18: 9 screen and fine edges. The edge-to-corner display is similar to Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.
Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, said earlier that Mi 7 will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. But there is not much verified information about the device yet.
During this time of the year, Qualcomm and Vivo displayed in-screen fingerprint scanners, even though the display was on a prototype device, the technology seemed impressive. However, it is a bit slow. One possibility is that due to late response times, Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 may have decided to give up the in-screen fingerprint sensor and go off the iPhone X path.
