Xiaomi Confirms Mi 6X Launch on April 25

Through the official Weibo account, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be holding a press conference on April 25 to announce a new smartphone. Rumors are rife that the Chinese manufacturer will be debuting the Xiaomi Mi 6X smartphone that has been recently certified by TENAA telecom regulatory body in China.

Xiaomi Mi 6X (or Mi A2) and Xiaomi Mi7 has been a part of multiple leaks in the past and has also stopped by at TENAA, China’s telecom regulatory for certification. While some of the specifications were detailed by the listing, a leak this week claimed that Mi 6X will be powered by MediaTek Helio P60 SoC, an octa-core chipset with four Cortex A73 cores similar to Snapdragon 835. However, it fails against Snapdragon 835 with Mali-G73 MP3 GPU.

The phone should be about the same size as the Mi MIX 2S given that it will have a 5.99” screen. The 2,910 mAh battery is a bit of a downgrade, though, while the memory setup remains the same – 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage.

In many ways, the smartphone resembles the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, It is expected to have a dual rear camera setup - featuring a 20-megapixel primary image sensor with an f/2.0 aperture on top, and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. On the front, the smartphone is rumoured to have a 20-megapixel image sensor with an f/2.0 aperture on top. It has also been mentioned the past that unlike many of the new mid-range options, the Mi 6X is not likely to come with a notch design.
