Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is considering entering the US smartphone market, a handset from the company has been certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Could be the first Xiaomi phone to launch in the US.
The unit featured in the FCC documents is a GSM850/1900 phone with support for LTE bands 2, 4, and 7. That means Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro should have at least some support for AT&T and T-Mobile’s US networks.
According to the official FCC documents, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro will feature entry-level hardware specs such as a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 720 by 1280 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a 2200mAh battery. Looking at the specs, the Redmi Note 2 Pro appears to be a modified version of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, a smartphone that's currently priced at roughly the equivalent of $110 in China, Xiaomi Mi Note Pro price is $500, one Xiaomi Mi Note Pro's price can buy four units Redmi 2 Pro.
The Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 4C is very affordable in China, and we do believe that it won’t be that much more expensive in the US, so it will certainly going to be interested how many consumers will be interested in purchasing one. Xiaomi will almost certainly going to hold a press conference in the US before they start selling their device though, stay tuned for more info.
