The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is one of the most popular smartphones in China with more than 5 million units sold in less than a month after its launch.
The current speculation has the Redmi Note 2 Pro offering the same specs as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, which was released in August. The only difference will be the metal build, and the aforementioned fingerprint scanner that will be found on at least one variation of the Redmi Note 2 Pro.
If the rumor is right, and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro equip with 5.5-inch capacitive tocuhscreen display with full HD (1080p) resolution and a 3,060 mAh battery. It is likely to be powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor, a PowerVR G6200 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. On the back, it might pack a 13-megapixel shooter with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there should be a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It will come with 32GB of storage inside, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB). No word on whether or not Xiaomi will add Android 6.0 Marshmallow inside.
Some rumors also say that Xiaomi will release two variants of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro, one of which will skip the fingerprint sensor, which is apparently for cost-cutting reasons. There’s no word currently about the pricing of the phone, but we expect the company to price the phone in a surprising range, which is very typical of Xiaomi. If the company does manage to get the pricing right, the phone will definitely will be a mass hit. The Redmi Note 2 Pro is expected to get a December 2015 release, possibly with the long-awaited Xiaomi Mi 5. And the wait’s going to be worth it!
