Xiaomi is one of China's most successful companies, they are typically better known for their mobile products, although the company does offer a wide range of electronic products. Xiaomi has another big event coming up next week, and while the focus may be on a new metal handset, the company could also have something else to show off. Earlier rumors have hinted at an upgraded Mi Pad tablet, and now Xiaomi's own president appears to have revealed the device in question.
Coming from the Chinese social media platform Weibo, leaked images of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 indicate the tablet may feature a metal design. If you've seen one tablet you've seen them all, and this particular one is reminiscent of the recent iPad Pro, albeit smaller.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is the second generation to the Xiaomi Mi Pad, which launched in 2014. While there have been few rumors about the Mi Pad 2, the ones circulating suggest the device will include a 7.9-inch QXGA (2048x1536) resolution display, an Intel Atom x5 chip, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, the price is $259. There have been murmurs that the Mi Pad 2 could dual boot Windows 10.
Lin Bin also recently teased a gold-colored metal smartphone with a fingerprint reader in back just below the camera. This appears to be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro, an upgraded version of Xiaomi's recent phablet. As for the flagship Xiaomi Mi5, we're still hoping to see it unveiled next week, though it's possible the company could save that announcement for early 2016.
