After a number of leaks, the first official teaser image for Xiaomi's upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Pro smartphone has been released. There are also rumors about the company launching a new Mi-series of laptops and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone. The teaser also features the Chinese company's CEO Lei Jun who is holding the phone in his hand.
The image, posted on Lei Jun's official Weibo account, only shows the upper back panel of the device. It also establishes firmly that the Redmi Pro will feature a dual-camera setup. The cameras are placed vertically with LED flash in between them. Nothing else is detailed about the device, and a fingerprint sensor is notably absent from the back as well.
XiaomiDevice has already confirmed that the Redmi Pro is powered by MediaTek's Helio X25 chipset, which boasts a deca-core CPU clocked at up to 2.5 GHz. As for rest of the key specs, rumors say the device will sport 5.5-inch full HD display, 4GB RAM, and 13MP dual rear cameras.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro phone is said to start at RMB 1,299 (around $195), with the top model costing RMB 1,399 (around $210). It will be made official on July 27, i.e, today.
