Xiaomi has silently unveiled a new variant of the "Redmi Note 3" yesterday, while the original version was launched last year. Some reports are calling this variant as "Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro." This budget-friendly handset comes bundled with impressive configurations and an inexpensive price tag.
The key difference between the two is the former boasts a next-gen 64-bit class Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor and a 16MP primary camera, whereas the latter houses a MediaTek Helio X10 CPU and a 13MP snapper on the back. The rest of the specifications are the same.
The hardware components are backed by a good 2 GB of RAM configuration, specific to the 16 GB variant. The 32 GB model, on the other hand, comes with 3 GB of RAM. To top it all off, this budget-friendly device houses a whopping 4,050 mAh battery unit to keep the lights on.
It is learnt that the original Redmi Note 3 model with MediaTek CPU infringes upon an Ericsson patent and hence cannot be sold in India. Its predecessors — Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Xiaomi Mi Note Pro — had faced similar sanctions.
As far as the pricing goes, the 16 GB Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will set the buyers back by 999 yuan (about $151). So far, the price specific to the 32 GB variant has not been announced. Apart from China, this phone will be made available in India shortly. However, Xiaomi has not confirmed the release date outside India yet.
