We've already seen plenty of leaked pictures of the Xiaomi Mi5, but the latest images of Xiaomi's next flagship seems to reveal some troubling new details. Based on photos of an alleged Mi5 frame, it looks like the company's taken some direct inspiration from Apple's latest phone designs.
Like the HTC One A9 and iPhone 6, it's an all-metal back panel with an antenna band on each end. Corners are rounded, and edges are curved while the bottom edge features 7 individually machined holes where the speaker will sit, and cutouts for the USB connector, 3.5mm jack and microphone. There are also two small holes either side of the USB port, presumably for screws which hold the USB connector to the frame.
According to earlier leaks, Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a 2K display, Snapdragon 820 SoC with a 16 megapixel rear camera and a 13 mp one on the front. It could come in 3GB and 4GB versions with 16 and 64GB storage space respectively.
Recently, Xiaomi also launched its entry level smartphone named Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro in China. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro sports a 5.5-inch FHD (1080p) display, which is the biggest screen size for the Redmi series yet. The smartphone comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage; since it features a hybrid dual-sim slot, users can expand storage up to 128GB via microSD card. It comes with a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and phase-detection autofocus on the back and 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture in front.
No doubt with the Xiaomi Mi 5, the expectations will be high from the company. We'll have to wait till February 24 to see if the leaks have got it all right.
