Xiaomi Mi5 is already one of the most anticipated Android phones of the year. Now it turns out the company could have something to offer for Windows fans as well.
Aside from the OS, the Win 10 variant is said to be identical to its Android cousin. The rumor also suggests that the device will be made official at a simultaneous event in China and Barcelona (during this year's MWC), alongside the Android model.
The Windows-powered Mi5 will presumably pack the same hardware as Xiaomi's Android smartphone. That includes a Snapdragon 820 chip, potentially making it the most powerful Windows 10 Mobile device on the market. It could also come equipped with a 5.2-inch display, a 3000mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, 16GB/64GB of storage, a 16-megapixel rear camera (8-megapixel in front) and a fingerprint reader built into the home button. The company's Senior Vice President, Liwan Jiang, has reportedly also confirmed that the phone will sport a 1080p display, instead of the rumored QHD one.
We also know the Mi5 will come with NFC (Near Field Communication) and dual-SIM support thanks to a screenshot leaked online last week.
Even the smartphone is expected to get unwrapped on Feb. 24, a teaser image from the company suggest that the smartphone will be previewed at the MWC 2016 event. One of the leaked photos of the retail package of the Xiaomi Mi 5 that came emerged in the previous week revealed the four color variants of the upcoming smartphone namely, blue, gold, white and black.
