The Chinese company has just confirmed that over 16 million people have registered for the Xiaomi Mi5 first sale, which is scheduled for March 1.
In fact, Xiaomi might have just set a new record since this milestone was achieved in less than a week after Mi5's official reveal.
Xiaomi announced the Mi5 smartphone during Mobile World Congress last week. Though the device made its debut in Europe, the manufacturer currently has plans to sell its flagship exclusively in China. There are no plans to sell the device in the U.S, but Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro plans to sale in India. Previously, people using a U.S. SIM card on a Xiaomi phone would get 3G coverage as its maximum ability.
The Xiaomi Mi5 features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip and a 5.15-inch Quad HD display. The devices comes in three models, two feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB and 64GB of internal storage respectively. The Xiaomi Mi5 Pro model features 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The Mi 5 comes in three models. The Xiaomi Mi5 Pro is priced at ¥2699 (around $413/Rs 28,307), while 32GB model of Mi 5 comes with a price tag of ¥1999 (around $306/Rs 20,965) and the 64GB model costs ¥2299 ($351/Rs 24,111).
