It's been more than a year since Xiaomi launched the Mi Note in China. After the launch of the flagship Xiaomi Mi5, the company is now likely to turn its attention to the Mi Note series. According to reports out of Korea, the next-gen Mi Note 2 could feature a Samsung-sourced curved AMOLED display.
Technology blog GizOK, citing sources, has claimed that Xiaomi will unveil the new Xiaomi Mi Note 2 with dual-edge curved display similar to Samsung's newly released Galaxy S7 edge.
Samsung Display has been working to increase production, and also source it to other OEMs. As per reports, Chinese companies like Vivo, Xiaomi and Huawei are in the front of the queue to source curved displays from Samsung. After the launch of the Vivo Xplay 5 with its curved display, Xiaomi's Mi Note 2 is likely to be the next in line.
As far as Mi Note 2 features are concerned, they are scarce right now. But, if we go by the current industry norms among the marquee phones, we can safely assume that the upcoming Xiaomi phablet is most likely to house 4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB inbuilt storage, 3600mAh (or more), primary camera with dual-lens, fingerprint sensor, 3D Touch display and wireless charging.
The Xiaomi Mi Note featured a 5.7-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB and 64GB internal storage options. It also featured a 13-megapixel rear shooter with OIS and two-tone flash, 4-megapixel selfie snapper, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Xiaomi had also launched another version called the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, which featured a 2K display, Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of RAM.
