Finally, the premium variant of the new Xiaomi Mi5 flagship, the Mi 5 Pro, will be available for users to purchase soon. The device is set to debut in China on the same day that other major releases are set to take place, which will be on April 6.
According to a report by GizOK, the Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro premium variant will officially go on sale on April 6. That same day will, interestingly, also be the launch of the long rumored Huawei P9 smartphone as well as the midrange Meizu m3 note device.
The Xiaomi Mi5 was unveiled at Mobile World Congress last month. The Mi 5 smartphone comes with different models, with 32 / 64 / 128 GB variant storage. The device supports fingerprint scanning and is equipped with 16-megapixel main camera coupled with 4-megapixel snapper on the front. The handset comes with clad metallic and glass combination that should appeal to fans of sleek designs.
In terms of the software, the smartphone runs the latest Android 6 Marshmallow operating out of the box. It is powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor on board paired with 3GB and 4GB of RAM, depending on the model. The standard model of the device features 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.
Xiaomi is reportedly offering a Commemorative Edition of the Mi 5 Pro, which will have an engraved model number at the back of it. It will be limited to 2,000 units. Registrations are now open, and the device will go on sale on March 31, you can buy Mi5 Pro via XiaomiDevice site.
The Xiaomi Mi5 Pro will be available for 2,699 Yuan or a price equivalent of $415.
