Xiaomi Mi 5S has been a subject to plenty of speculations and now just a day away from the official launch, leaked images of the smartphone are finally beginning to surface online. A new leak reported by XiaomiDevice shows the actual smartphone in the hands of an employee on the factory floor, while another shows off its back with the vertical alignment of cameras.
According to XiaomiDevice, reports out of China have already leaked some details on the Xiaomi Mi 5s, including its flagship specs and price range. Supposedly, although the prices may have gone up, the new iteration will still offer budget-friendly price tags. The base model for the Xiaomi Mi 5s will reportedly retail for CNY 1,999 or around $300. This tag is for the Mi 5s with Snapdragon 821 processor and 6 GB of RAM, and it is supposed to feature the same 5.15-inch display with 1080p resolution. Meanwhile, a top-tier variant, dubbed as the Mi 5s Plus, will reportedly carry a CNY 2,999 price tag (about $449). This premium version will have the same SD 821 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. However, the premium version will get an upgrade to 256 GB of onboard storage and a 5.7-inch display with QHD resolution.
For the features, Xiaomi has given hints that the smartphones are to have the Snapdragon Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. This feature will be placed under the hood of the phones. Both the Xiaomi Mi 5s and the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus will also have Force Touch as well.
The company has been constantly teasing the power and features of its upcoming smartphone as it released a teaser image last week that showed an impressive AnTuTu benchmark score of 164,119 by the the smartphone.
As to when fans can expect the new flagship to roll out, speculations suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 5s will go on sale at the end of the month.
