On September 27th, Xiaomi is expected to unveil the highly spec'd Xiaomi Mi 5s (and possibly the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus). A new teaser released by Xiaomi confirms that the handset will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon Sense ID. This is the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that will be embedded underneath the screen.
For other phones that have relied on on-screen home buttons, a special cutout is needed, like with the Huawei P9. However this could change with the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5s that could sport an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. We had heard rumors about this last week, and a recent teaser posted by the company seems to have confirmed that.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to have a 5.15-inch display screen and it said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. The Xiaomi variants also comes with the first Qualcomm Snapdragon Sense ID that uses a technology embedded a fingerprint scanner on the display.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s has a 6GB RAM and it has a 256GB internal storage with a 3,490mAH battery capacity. The Xiaomi Mi 5s has a 12-megapixel dual camera that can create pictures with bokeh effects, just like the Xiaomi Mi5 Pro.
As per Xiaomi Device, Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to come in two variants, a standard model for ¥1,999 (approximately $300/€267/Rs 20,007) and another top-end model with 5.7-inch screen and 256GB storage for ¥2,999 (approx. $450/€400/Rs 30,016).
