After the release of Xiaomi Mi 5S and 5S Plus, the Chinese OEM is reportedly working on a toned-down Xiaomi Mi 5C to make it three versions of the Xiaomi Mi5 series this 2016.
Xiaomi has had an excellent conclusion to the year 2016 following the recent release of a unique Xiaomi Mi MIX phablet – a first bezel-less handset to be released – alongside the curved edge Xiaomi Mi Note 2.
Dubbed Xiaomi Meri, the new Xiaomi Mi 5C could be released on December 12, according to the latest reports coming from China. As opposed to the original Mi5 and Mi 5S that are equipped with high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, the upcoming Mi 5C will ship with a Pinecone processor on board, but the traditional full-metal design that features a sleek touch and rounded body is expected. Xiaomi Mi 5C could come with a fingerprint embedded in the home button and if the reports remain true, we may see a Mi 5C phone that features a 2.5D arc glass on the screen.
Even though images of the design and basic looks of the Xiaomi Mi 5C are already out there, there is a debate still going on regarding the display size of the phone. While some reports point towards an identical 5.1-inch display screen as its predecessor, others are adamant that the tech giant will shift to a larger 5.5-inch screen with Full HD resolution.
Given that all these are based on rumors, we still face an unknown period of waiting, at least until the company clears the air about this supposed Xiaomi Mi 5C handset.
