Xiaomi has just launched the Xiaomi Redmi 4 in China, and it comes as a successor to the Redmi 3s, which has been there in the market for months with decent specifications and a good performance for the price it is being offered.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 smartphones sport a metal unibody design, 2.5D curved glass displays, hybrid dual-SIM slots, and fingerprint sensors on the rear panel. The devices run MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and are available in Gold, Grey, and Silver colour variants.
The smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, both with an f/2.2 aperture. Connectivity options on the Redmi 4 includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, and GPS/ A-GPS, and powered by a 4100mAh battery with fast charging support. Sensors on board the Redmi 4 include the accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, infrared, and proximity. The Redmi 4 Prime sports a 5-inch full-HD display, and is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It has 32GB of storage expandable up to 128GB. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is one of the most basic of the three handsets and foregoes a fingerprint sensor. It contains a dual-SIM slot, and runs on MIUI 8 Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. Featuring a 5-inch display, it is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425, an Adreno 308 GPU 2GB RAM. The Redmi 4A has a 13MP rear camera while the front camera is a 5MP. Internal storage is again pegged at 16GB expandable up to 128GB.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime are available only in China while in India, the previous device, i.e. the Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime are currently available, Xiaomi MI Note 2 and Xiaomi Mi MIX flagship smartphone will be released next year in India.
