Xiaomi may not make as much noise as Samsung or Apple, but it has found an edge over the more popular brands by going edgeless. Xiaomi Mi MIX with 91.3% of the screen taking up the entire body, it makes the Samsung Note 7 and the iPhone 7 pretty much old and outdated.
When the Xiaomi Mi Mix went into its first flash sale in early November, it sold like the proverbial hotcake. In just 10 seconds, the smartphone was sold out. If it was an auction, all auctioned units likely sold long before the auctioneer finish the introduction. And the hype revolved around the edge-less design. It also pays that it didn’t start exploding a few weeks or months into its use.
When a second flash sale was held, the smartphone was gone in just 30 seconds. While there were no breaking records going on, it was still faster than how Xiaomi Mi Note 2 fared during its first flash sale, which lasted around 50 seconds.
It is shipped with Android OS v6.0 (Marshmallow), and features geo-tagging, HDR, touch focus, face detection and panorama. The Xiaomi Mi Mix is available with an internal memory of 128 GB or 256 GB. It doesn’t have a memory card slot, but you probably won’t need it with this much internal storage space.
Now, do you agree that the Mi Mix makes an iPhone 7 not so new in terms of design and construction? With Xiaomi Mi VR that supports the bezel-less Xiaomi Mi Mix on the market, the Chinese company has the potential to share the same level as Samsung and Apple. Only time will tell.
