The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and Xiaomi Mi MIX are the company’s latest flagship phablet devices. These two handsets were introduced quite recently by Xiaomi in China, and they were already available through a flash sale in the country. We do not know how many units did Xiaomi sell the first time around, but the bezel-less Xiaomi Mi MIX phablet was sold out in only 30 seconds, so a lot of users didn’t get a chance to purchase this phablet from the company.
Aside from the Mi MIX, Xiaomi also fielded the Mi Note 2. Unlike the Mi MIX, the Mi Note 2 took close to a minute mark to be sold out during the second flash sale, according to Xiaomi Mobile. During the flash sales, several interested buyers reported that Xiaomi's website have a very slow response time. Because of these reports of slow traffic, it is possible that the Mi MIX and the Mi Note 2 were sold out even sooner than the report claims.
Mi MIX consists of 6.4-inches edge-to-edge display with Snapdragon 821 and 4GB RAM. It can be purchased for $516 while its 6GB variant is available for $590. This unique phablet’s global release date has not been announced yet, so for now, users in China are the only lucky ones. Rumors suggest that Huawei is attempting to follow in Xiaomi’s footsteps to produce a smartphone concept similar to that of Mi Mix.
The Mi Note 2 is an exceptional alternative for the failed Galaxy Note 7, with a 5.7-inch curved screen powered by Snapdragon 821. The device is available in two variants with 4Gb and 6GB RAM.
Xiaomi is yet to confirm how many Mi MIX or Mi Note 2 units the company has in stock. The company did not also comment on whether it will hold more flash sales after the third one. It is unclear if the Xiaomi Mi MIX or the Mi Note 2 would be released in markets outside of China.
