Xiaomi launched one of its most anticipated smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 last month, which is Xiaomi’s first smartphone with dual-edge display. To the surprise of everyone, the company also launched a new smartphone called the Xiaomi Mi MIX, which flaunts a 6.4-inch bezel-less display. But turns out, Xiaomi could be launching a new smartphone and it is a flat-screen display variant of the Mi Note 2. The smartphone has been certified by TENAA.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 had its first flash sale on November 1 and reportedly sold out 50 seconds after it was made available to customers who pre-registered for a chance to purchase the handset. Today, Xiaomi said that it took one minute to sell out in its second flash sale. Xiaomi’s decision to produce a flat screen variant may allow it to sell this phablet at a lower price point compared to the curved version but to find out for sure we’ll have to wait for the Chinese manufacturer to make an official announcement.

It features a 5.7-inch OLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the same 64-bit Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz and coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. While the curved display variant of the Mi Note 2 came with 4GB and 6GB RAM options, the new device is listed only with 6GB RAM. There will be 128GB of internal storage and there is no MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. The home button on the front also doubles up as a fingerprint. As it comes enabled with NFC, the device also joins the list of the Xiaomi Devices supporting Mi Pay mobile payment system.

Pricing details are unknown at this time, but XiaomiDevice expects Xiaomi to reveal all on 11 November. The original Mi Note 2 was priced at around Rs 34,500 in China.
