With the successful launching of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and the more celebrated Xiaomi Mi Mix along with the hardware refresh variants of its acclaimed Xiaomi Mi 5, Xiaomi has inarguably sent its signal to its competition that it's definitely back and is now toting an even more formidable entry — the hotly anticipated, next-generation flagship Xiaomi Mi6.
Xiaomi Mi5 successor is now in the works as Xiaomi has, glaringly so, just conducted a survey on the features and specifications its consumers are desiring to see in the upcoming iteration.
The upcoming MiUI 9 is being tailor-fitted to the Xiaomi Mi6. One of the alleged new improvements over the current MiUI 8 interface is that the upcoming platform adds special "Smart Edge Gesture" support. This new control option is particularly useful to the Mi6.
Aside from the Xiaomi Mi6, the concept flagship Mi MIX and Mi Note 2 are also expected to get the update. In addition, most 2016 releases by the tech maker are likely included in the update list, like the Xiaomi Mi 5s and Xiaomi Mi5 Pro, the newly-launched Redmi 4, as well as the Redmi Note 4. However, it is unclear which of the previous-generation iterations will be included in the Android Nougat-based update.
